Kaua'i Dev hosted a VR Space Exploration Exhibit at the James Webb Nasa Image Release Event featuring an award-winning VR experience called SPHERES. Community members of all ages including a 78-year-old gentleman got to experience a breathtaking journey through the universe. The experience was visual, interactive, and educational with a poetic VoiceOver guide. With the support of the Kaua'i Community Science Center, we facilitated a total of 28 10-12 minute VR sessions on a total of 3 VR headsets. To insure the safety of each voyager, we curated 3 6ft x6ft VR stations equipped with a designated safety monitor/instructors, padded flooring & visual casting. The goal for this Exhibit was to immerse our participants in the vast complexities of space itself in hopes to provide further context to the incredible achievements made with the James Webb Space Telescope. Seeing not only local kids from the area try VR for the first time but their whole families giving it a shot was the highlight of our experience as facilitators.
