About the event

Kaua'i Dev has partnered with the Kaua'i Community Science Center to bring a Virtual Reality, World Building Workshop to the Students of Kaua'i.

Please join us on December 6th, 2022 at the Kaua'i Community Science Center in Waimea or join us virtually through Zoom for our Program Informational Session. We will be going over the details of the program and answering any questions.

Pizza, snacks & drinks will be provided by the science center.

The Climate Connect Virtual Reality Program is available for students ages 13 and older. It will be an introductory course to VR world-building. We will explore the many use cases of VR and a diversity of Virtual Reality experiences developed as educational tools on climate, designed to inspire change and worlds that tell important stories.

The project team will also include representation from the County of Kauai Climate Adaptation Plan to support students' awareness of local climate initiatives and policy development.

The students will learn the basics of building in VR while first participating in a collaborative Virtual Reality Project working in groups. Once everyone has a feel for the tools, program, and workflow, it's time to let your creative juices flow! Each student will have the opportunity to choose a topic of their choice and develop their own Virtual Reality Experience. The Kaua'i Community Science Center will then find relevant industry experts to provide students with additional inspiration, resources, and support.
